Today picking began at Chateau Dudon. They will pick the vines three or four times as the botrytis rot continues to cover the bunches. Had a sample today - delicious marmalade flavours.

Chateau Dudon
Built in the 1800's, this place housed 60 German soldiers during the war. It was trashed and left derelict until Mdm Evelyn returned to restore it. It's a slow and expensive process, but there's a new roof, restored walls and a couple of rooms finished. The walled grounds are handy for keeping Harry in. We spend a lot of time under a beautiful walnut tree. Our 'gite' is connected to the cellar and winery buildings. It used to be stables.
